Discover the journey
Link Argentina's Patagonian walking centers with Chile's Torres del Paine region and the far south over fifteen days. From Buenos Aires, the route reaches El Chalten for mountain trails, then El Calafate for glacier interests. Torres del Paine provides a separate park chapter before Punta Arenas and Ushuaia continue the southern arc. A return to Buenos Aires completes the journey. Multi-night bases create room for different walks and changing weather, with alternatives to the more demanding trails. Consider walking effort, wind, daylight and park conditions alongside the map; international crossings and internal flights are also significant parts of the itinerary.

Day-by-day itinerary
This is a proposed itinerary. Daily plans and overnight areas can be adjusted before booking; your written proposal will confirm the final arrangements.
Day 1Begin in Buenos Aires
Arrive in Buenos Aires and keep the day flexible, using any spare time for a neighborhood walk before the southern travel chapter begins. The next stage changes both climate and travel rhythm.
Overnight area: Buenos Aires.
Day 2Toward El Chalten
Travel south toward the El Calafate gateway and continue to El Chalten, making the connection and arrival more important than additional sightseeing. The El Chalten stay provides two full walking days.
Overnight area: El Chalten.
Day 3Walking near El Chalten
Reserve the day for a selected trail near El Chalten, choosing the distance and terrain after reviewing conditions and individual walking preferences. A shorter trail can remain a worthwhile alternative.
Overnight area: El Chalten.
Day 4Another El Chalten day
Allow a second full day around El Chalten, giving weather flexibility and a different walking choice rather than making every trail compulsory. Use the second day to respond to weather.
Overnight area: El Chalten.
Day 5Continue to El Calafate
Travel toward El Calafate and change the focus from mountain trail bases to the wider glacier-region setting, leaving the afternoon comfortably paced. The glacier-area outing has its own dedicated day.
Overnight area: El Calafate.
Day 6Glacier-region interests
Use El Calafate as a base for a possible glacier-area visit, with viewing walks or a separate boat outing scoped independently in your itinerary.
Overnight area: El Calafate.
Day 7Cross to Torres del Paine
Cross into Chile and continue toward Torres del Paine, allowing park procedures and road timing to determine the first day's activity level.
Overnight area: Torres del Paine National Park.
Day 8Torres del Paine walking choices
Spend the day with a selected Torres del Paine walk, retaining alternatives if wind, weather or personal preference makes the longer option unsuitable. A viewpoint alternative can preserve the landscape interest.
Overnight area: Torres del Paine National Park.
Day 9Another park day
Keep another day in the park landscape, choosing a different trail or viewpoint and allowing changing conditions to shape the sensible route.
Overnight area: Torres del Paine National Park.
Day 10Continue toward Punta Arenas
Leave the park region for Punta Arenas, preserving time for the road and any appropriate short stop before reaching the southern city. The following travel stage also needs room for formalities.
Overnight area: Punta Arenas.
Day 11Cross toward Ushuaia
Travel toward Ushuaia with the international crossing and southern transport connections as the day's main focus, allowing a relaxed arrival rather than extra excursions. Keep the arrival evening easy after the crossing.
Overnight area: Ushuaia.
Day 12Explore near Ushuaia
Use Ushuaia as a base for a suitable Tierra del Fuego-area walk, discussing terrain and transport before choosing the final outdoor program. A shorter route can fit the same outdoor focus.
Overnight area: Ushuaia.
Day 13A second Ushuaia day
Keep another day around Ushuaia for a separate walking or coastal interest, with any boat excursion considered an optional, condition-dependent addition. Sea conditions should determine any marine activity.
Overnight area: Ushuaia.
Day 14Return to Buenos Aires
Return toward Buenos Aires on the planned internal flight, leaving time between arrival and any independent evening plans or onward travel. A mainland city night helps separate the flight stages.
Overnight area: Buenos Aires.
Day 15Finish in Buenos Aires
Finish in Buenos Aires. Consider an extra city night if you would like more time before the international departure.

Questions about this journey
Can the walking be adapted?
Discuss distance, terrain and elevation change for each selected trail. Weather-responsive alternatives are important in Patagonia, and a shorter walk or viewpoint may provide a better option on a particular day.
Can I request Group or Private travel?
You can indicate either preference in your inquiry. Your travel specialist will review the format, party size, preferred dates and available arrangements before preparing a quote.
What happens after I request a quote?
Your inquiry starts a discussion of your dates and preferences. You will review the itinerary, services and price before deciding whether to book; the inquiry itself does not reserve travel.
