Discover the journey
Connect Lima with the Peruvian highlands, the Sacred Valley and the communities around Lake Titicaca on a nine-day journey. Cusco provides time to settle into the altitude before the route continues through Ollantaytambo toward Aguas Calientes and a proposed Machu Picchu visit. A flexible day back in Cusco leaves room for your own interests before the journey turns toward Puno and the lake. City streets, mountain scenery and a possible community stay bring different perspectives on Peru. The highland pace and Machu Picchu permits need particular attention, while the return to Lima creates a useful pause before onward travel.

Day-by-day itinerary
This is a proposed itinerary. Daily plans and overnight areas can be adjusted before booking; your written proposal will confirm the final arrangements.
Day 1Begin in Lima
Arrive in Lima and settle into the capital before the highland chapter begins. Keep the first day flexible, with a light city introduction if your arrival leaves time.
Day 2Continue to Cusco
Continue toward Cusco and keep the rest of the day gentle as you settle into the highland setting. Allow time to acclimatize and discuss the pace that is appropriate for you.
Day 3Across the Sacred Valley
Travel through the Sacred Valley toward Ollantaytambo and a proposed rail continuation to Aguas Calientes. The day brings together valley scenery and the approach to the next morning's site visit.
Day 4Machu Picchu and the return
Plan a Machu Picchu visit, subject to the required permits and admission arrangements, before returning toward Cusco. Keep the day centered on the site and the journey back.
Day 5A flexible day in Cusco
Spend a flexible day in Cusco, choosing cultural interests or independent time at your own pace. Additional activities can be discussed separately if you prefer a more structured day.
Day 6Toward Puno
Travel toward Puno and the Lake Titicaca area, allowing the road or other selected connection to set the day's rhythm. Leave time to settle in before the lake chapter.
Day 7Lake and community interests
Explore Lake Titicaca and possible community interests through appropriately arranged local visits. A community overnight can be considered alongside an alternative stay, with facilities and boat arrangements discussed in advance.
Day 8Return to Lima
Return toward Lima using the agreed transport connection. Keep the rest of the day open after the journey, with a final capital overnight before onward travel.
Day 9Finish in Lima
Finish the nine-day journey in Lima. Discuss a departure transfer or additional city time as part of your final arrangements.

Questions about this journey
What needs to be arranged for Machu Picchu?
Permits, admission arrangements, the site route and the rail connection need to work together. These will be reviewed before the visit is confirmed; allow preparation and acclimatization time in Cusco as well.
