Discover the journey
Travel from Cape Town into Namibia on a fourteen-day journey through coast, canyon, dunes and wildlife country. The Western Cape and Orange River lead toward Fish River Canyon and a Sesriem base for the Sossusvlei area. Swakopmund offers a pause beside the Atlantic before Damaraland and Etosha introduce different inland landscapes. The route finishes in Windhoek, avoiding a return drive to Cape Town. Several two-night stays leave time for outdoor interests beyond the arrival day. With long road stages between regions, a carefully chosen mix of viewpoints, walks and local visits will make the journey more rewarding than an overloaded schedule.

Day-by-day itinerary
This is a proposed itinerary. Daily plans and overnight areas can be adjusted before booking; your written proposal will confirm the final arrangements.
Day 1Arrive in Cape Town
Begin in Cape Town with a light arrival schedule, leaving room for independent city interests before the longer road stages begin. Longer city interests fit better before departure north.
Overnight area: Cape Town.
Day 2A Cape Town day
Use another day in Cape Town for chosen coastal or city sights, keeping optional excursions separate from the overland route's agreed service scope. Keep the next morning ready for the road stage.
Overnight area: Cape Town.
Day 3North through the Western Cape
Travel north through the Western Cape toward the Lamberts Bay area, with countryside stops selected to fit a realistic road timetable. The coastal stop breaks the journey northward.
Overnight area: Lamberts Bay area.
Day 4Toward the Orange River
Continue toward the Orange River and cross into Namibia, allowing the border process and arrival at the overnight base to shape the day. Do not attach a fixed evening excursion to the crossing.
Overnight area: Orange River.
Day 5Fish River Canyon
Travel toward Fish River Canyon and choose an appropriate viewing visit, keeping the difference between a viewpoint stop and a demanding walk clear. Keep canyon access within the selected safe visitor areas.
Overnight area: Fish River Canyon.
Day 6Across the desert to Sesriem
Move inland through Namibia toward Sesriem, reserving the afternoon for settling in and preparing for a temperature-aware dune-area visit. Dune exploration has a separate day tomorrow.
Overnight area: Sesriem.
Day 7Sossusvlei landscapes
Explore the Sossusvlei area from Sesriem, choosing viewpoints and walking distances around heat, access and your preferred level of effort. A landscape visit can be rewarding without a longer dune climb.
Overnight area: Sesriem.
Day 8Reach Swakopmund
Leave the inland desert for the Atlantic coast and Swakopmund, enjoying the change of setting while keeping the transfer day manageable.
Overnight area: Swakopmund.
Day 9Time in Swakopmund
Spend a full day in Swakopmund, choosing between relaxed town exploration and a separately arranged excursion into the surrounding coastal landscape. Specialist outings should not be assumed from spare time.
Overnight area: Swakopmund.
Day 10Into Damaraland
Continue toward Damaraland, where the scenery becomes the main focus and the exact overnight base should follow the final road plan.
Overnight area: Damaraland.
Day 11Another Damaraland day
Remain in Damaraland for selected landscape and cultural interests, checking access and local arrangements before adding specific rock-art or community visits. Hosted access needs an accurate description before confirmation.
Overnight area: Damaraland.
Day 12Toward Etosha
Travel to the Etosha area and introduce the wildlife chapter with time to settle near the park before choosing a suitable outing.
Overnight area: Etosha National Park.
Day 13A full Etosha day
Reserve the day for Etosha wildlife viewing, allowing conditions to guide the route and retaining time for unhurried observation at appropriate stops. A second night allows unhurried return to base.
Overnight area: Etosha National Park.
Day 14Finish in Windhoek
Continue to Windhoek to finish the journey. Discuss the expected arrival time before arranging an onward flight, or consider an additional city night.
