Discover the journey
Discover Jordan through a walking-focused journey from Amman's hills to Dana, Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea area. The eight-day route sets aside time for trails and terrain alongside the road transfers between regions. A selected Petra walk, the Al Barrah canyon landscape and a possible outing toward Wadi Himara give the program a different emphasis from a general sightseeing circuit. Heat, trail conditions and walking demands matter throughout, and alternatives are needed when a route does not suit the weather or the traveler. Discuss your experience and preferred activity level before choosing the final walks.

Day-by-day itinerary
This proposed itinerary can be adjusted around your interests and travel dates. Visits, transport and overnight arrangements are confirmed in your written proposal before booking.
Day 1Arrive in Amman
Arrive in Amman and settle in before the walking route begins. Keep the evening light, with time to discuss the activity level and any individual needs ahead of the more substantial terrain days.
Planned overnight: Amman.
Day 2Amman's hills on foot
Explore Amman's historic and urban settings on a selected walking route, with breaks and local transport where useful. Hills and steps give the day its character and help establish a comfortable pace before the less urban terrain ahead.
Planned overnight: Amman.
Day 3Dana landscape en route to Petra
Travel toward Dana for a selected walk when access and conditions suit, then continue to Petra. Balance trail time with the road journey, with an alternative if weather or individual needs change the walking plan.
Planned overnight: Petra.
Day 4Petra paths and onward desert travel
Explore a selected Petra walking route before continuing to Wadi Rum. Distances, steps and sun exposure need a measured approach, with no strenuous extension assumed. Leave time for the onward journey rather than attempting every trail.
Planned overnight: Wadi Rum.
Day 5Desert canyon walking
Consider a walk in the Al Barrah canyon landscape from the Wadi Rum base. Suitable local support, heat and terrain determine the practical route, with an alternative for anyone whose needs or the day's conditions call for a different outing.
Planned overnight: Wadi Rum.
Day 6Via Madaba toward the Dead Sea
Continue toward the Dead Sea area with a selected stop in Madaba where timing permits. This transition day balances the preceding walking with road travel and rest. Keep additional activities flexible so the arrival does not become another demanding outdoor program.
Planned overnight: Dead Sea area.
Day 7A canyon outing, if conditions allow
A possible Wadi Himara walk depends on current access, weather, water conditions and individual suitability. Canyon terrain can change the plan, and a suitable alternative is essential. Choose the day's activity only after those conditions have been reviewed.
Planned overnight: Dead Sea area.
Day 8Depart Jordan
Finish with onward travel from the Dead Sea area, allowing a realistic road journey to the departure point. Keep the final day free of a hike so the schedule can follow your travel arrangements.
